Carex Grayi

This cool little sedge has a really neat feature. Spiky, mace-like ornamental seed heads.

Perfect near the front of the garden, in a rain garden, or anywhere texture is needed.

Thrives near water, but does fine in our well drained gardens.

Brunnera ‘Silver Heart’

Gorgeous showy foliage brightens up the shade garden. In spring, dainty cobalt blue forget-me-not flowers top the plant.

A choice collector’s plant, but an easy-to-grow perennial.

Heat tolerant but needs some moisture.

Creates a lovely groundcover.

Blackberry Lily

This gorgeous plant blooms like a small lily but it’s actually in the Iris family.

In mid-summer, dainty 1″ orange flowers top robust iris foliage.

The plant spreads slowly, but will reseed readily. Deadhead if you don’t want volunteers. If you do, collect the seeds to grow more and give them to your friends.

Tolerates drought and bad soil.

Astilbe ‘Cappuccino’

A gorgeous accent for the shade garden. Dark bronze lacy foliage looks great all summer.

Named appropriately, Cappuccino is topped with frothy white flowers in mid-summer.

The perfect spot for this plant is a place that gets afternoon shade and doesn’t dry out.

Allium ‘Summer Beauty’

Ornamental onion is clump forming with neat, dark green, upright foliage.

Large clear pink 2″ pom-pom blooms cover the plant in mid-summer. Nice as a vertical accent or a burst of mid-summer blooms.

Disease and pest resistant. Drought tolerant. Long lived.

Feather Reed Grass ‘Karl Forester’

2001 Perennial Plant of the Year. Tough, manageable and eye catching ornamental grass that adds vertical interest.

Feathery plumes emerge in early summer and ripen to wheat-colored seed heads by fall.

Plant in groups of three or five for best effect.

Dwarf Variegated Weigela

A magnificent spring-flowering shrub that only grows 3 to 4 feet.

Perfect for mass planting and hedges. Fits nicely under a low window.

Stunning clusters of rose trumpet shaped flowers cover the branches in spring.

Hydrangea ‘Brussels Lace’

A somewhat compact version of the panicle hydrangea reaching only 5 to 6 feet.

Huge flower clusters are open and lacey, remaining mostly white, with some pink spotting.

Flowers may reach up to 10″ in size when mature.

Sedum ‘Matrona’

A wonderfully easy succulent plant that loves the sun and difficult soil.

Extremely hardy, very little care is necessary – you won’t even need to water it.

Pretty gray-green foliage with pink edges and purple stems.

Pink flower flower clusters in fall are especially nice on the darker foliage.

Can replace a small shrub in the landscape.

Salvia ‘Caradonna’

Intense purple-blue flowers and spiky texture on this award winning plant adds vertical interest to the landscape.

A tough plant that tolerates our clay soil and dry conditions. Enjoys a sunny spot in the garden.

Especially attractive to pollinators.
